The first step is to determine what type of visa you need and to check whether you are eligible to apply.

You also need to know what documents you need to submit with your application, how long the application may take and what fees you will have to pay.

Each application must comply with the guidelines that apply to your visa category.

If your documents are not in English, you may need to have them translated before you apply.

Once you have completed your visa form, you will need to make an appointment to have your fingerprints and photograph taken at a visa application center. This is known as ‘biometric information’.

Once you have booked your appointment, you will receive an appointment confirmation email along with the letter confirming the appointment.

If you are part of a family or group, you will need to book a separate appointment for each member of the family or group.

Once you have submitted your application, you must pay the visa application fee. If you download the form to print it out and bring it to the visa application center, payment will be made at the time of your appointment.

Stay informed about the progress of your application.

You will receive an email as soon as your decision has been returned to the visa application center. If you do not have easy access to e-mails or would like more detailed information on the status of the processing, you can also be informed by SMS directly to your phone. Find out if this service is available at the visa application center you are visiting.

You can also track the status of your visa application online. Use the reference number on the invoice/receipt issued by the visa application center together with your surname to use this service.

Processed Visa Application documents will be delivered by Post/Courier. A secured courier service is available at the IBC centres.
